Propyleenglycol  is een viskeuze kleurloze vloeistof die bijna geurloos is, maar een flauw zoete smaak heeft.
Vijfenveertig procent van de geproduceerde propyleenglycol wordt gebruikt als chemische grondstof voor de productie van onverzadigde polyesterharsen. Propyleenglycol wordt gebruikt als een humectant, oplosmiddel en conserveringsmiddel in voedsel en voor tabaksproducten. Propyleenglycol wordt gebruikt als oplosmiddel in veel farmacetische sectoren, waaronder orale, injecteerbare en actuele formuleringen.

Functies en toepassing van propyleenglycol

 1.Moisturizer  

Het hydraterende mechanisme is hetzelfde als dat van glycerine, maar niet zo kleverig als glycerine.

 2.antivries

Verminder het kristallisatiepunt van water, zodat het product niet gemakkelijk kan worden ingevroren bij temperaturen onder nul.

3.penetratieversterker

Propyleenglycol wordt gebruikt als een penetratieversterker, zodat de functionele ingrediënten in het product beter door de huid kunnen worden geabsorbeerd.

Industrieel gebruik

1.propyleenglycol kan worden gebruikt als grondstof voor harsen, weekmakers, oppervlakteactieve stoffen, emulgatoren en demulgatoren.

Propyleenglycol kan ook worden gebruikt als antivriesmiddel en warmtedrager.

3.propyleenglycol is een belangrijke grondstof voor onverzadigd polyester, epoxyhars en polyurethaanhars

Gebruik van voedsel

1.propyleenglycol wordt voornamelijk gebruikt als oplosmiddel voor verschillende smaken, kleuren en conserveringsmiddelen, en als extractiemiddel voor vanillebonen, geroosterde koffiekorrels en natuurlijke smaken.

2. Bevochtigingsmiddel en onthardingsmiddel voor snoep, brood, verpakt vlees, kaas, enz.

3.het kan ook worden gebruikt als antischimmeladditief voor noedels en vulkernen.
