Cetearylalcohol, de chemische formule is C34H72O2, wit vast kristal, granulair of wasachtig blok, met geur. Het smeltpunt is 48-50°C en het kookpunt is 344°C. Onoplosbaar in water, oplosbaar in ethanol, ether en minerale olie. Sulfonatie-reactie met geconcentreerd zwavelzuur, maar geen chemisch effect bij sterke alkali. Het heeft de functies van het remmen van vet gevoel, het verminderen van de viscositeit van was materialen, en het stabiliseren van cosmetische emulsies.

Producttoepassing

Geschikt voor allerlei soorten cosmetica, als basis, vooral geschikt voor crèmes en lotions; in de geneeskunde kan het direct worden gebruikt in W/O emulgator pasta (als extra emulgator), zalf basis, etc. de vlakke grondstoffen kunnen ook worden gebruikt als ontwasemers, water- en bodembevochtigers, kleurvormers; ook als grondstoffen voor detergentia bij de productie van alcoholen, amiden en gesulfoneerde producten.
